About raptnrent: I got the name from my keys - R Apt and R Ent for the back door to my apartment and the back door to the house. I liked that they were also words: Rapt, meaning enthralled, riveted, captivated, and Rent, meaning torn asunder, violently wrenched. I thought it made for an interesting juxtaposition, open to all kinds of interpretations.

God Save the Screen
This showed up this morning: I, for one, would like to thank the Queen for making her royal address and providing the nation with something it sorely needs right now… The perfect Photoshop bait… pic.twitter.com/dU0CIATWs1 — Peter Chiykowski respects the … Continue reading
The music and the damage done
Since it’s remix/mashup week, I thought I’d take another shot at putting words to music. I guess I got the idea from the OER20 conference. I listened to some of it with ds106radio playing in the background, and once I … Continue reading
Raiders of the lost loo roll
At this point I’m pretty sick of toilet paper jokes. I much prefer Jim Luke’s explanation of the issue, as it makes me feel like I learned something. Today’s Daily Create was a simple challenge, so simple that the real … Continue reading

Looking ahead
We have a lot of great thoughts looking forward to final projects. I recommend that everyone look over each other’s thoughts. Maybe you’ll find ideas you can use. Maybe you’ll have ideas to share. Several people are on similar wavelengths. … Continue reading
Booger panic
So I left work Friday because I wasn’t feeling well. It ended up just being a common cold, but I played it safe and put myself under quarantine. It’s complicated by allergies, so I still get an occasional sneezing fit. … Continue reading
Show and tell with Nyarlathotep
There is a storytelling principle of “show, don’t tell.” So one might say: On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air instead of “I was driving through the desert … Continue reading
How not to choose a design assignment
So I told myself: I’ll do a design assignment. I’ll click the random button and do whichever on it gives me. So what do I get? The Spreadsheet Invasion. What the heck should I do with that? And how the … Continue reading

Sounding off on the radio
We came up with many great radio show ideas this past week. You can see them all at the link, at least the ones that were tagged properly. A number of people mentioned fashion as a topic. This poses a … Continue reading
