About raptnrent: I got the name from my keys - R Apt and R Ent for the back door to my apartment and the back door to the house. I liked that they were also words: Rapt, meaning enthralled, riveted, captivated, and Rent, meaning torn asunder, violently wrenched. I thought it made for an interesting juxtaposition, open to all kinds of interpretations.

Today’s Daily Create had us make a Mystic Symbolic Creature. I played around with it a little randomized a bit, and then “Bob” showed up. I don’t know much about the Church of the SubGenius, but it sounds like some … Continue reading
Whistler’s painting
For today’s Daily Create we had to put ourselves in a famous painting. Part of my story is that I used to try to be an artist/painter, so I wanted to play with a “painting within a painting” idea. I’m … Continue reading

Inverted synesthesia
For today’s Daily Create, I did a most obvious thing and typed ds106 in the synesthesia generator. Being most oblivious, I failed to notice that @NomadWarMachine did that in the assignment prompt. I didn’t like the color combination though, so … Continue reading

Elmer to the rescue
It’s not necessary to do write-ups for Daily Creates, but I do them sometimes just because. Yesterday’s Daily Create asked us to add a rescue vehicle to a piece of art. I liked the inspiration for the challenge, but I … Continue reading
Mixed Up Mountain Jam
We had a Daily Create today for Mountain Day. The command for the Create is simply “Celebrate Mountain Day,” with no indication or suggestion as to how. I had seen Ted Gould’s tutorial (YT) on the bass line for Prince’s … Continue reading
For the birds
I love the idea of a Pet Film Poster Mashup, yesterday’s Daily Create. I wasn’t really sure what to do for it though. I don’t have a pet of favorite animal, unless the Guinea worm counts. So I started thinking … Continue reading
