About raptnrent: I got the name from my keys - R Apt and R Ent for the back door to my apartment and the back door to the house. I liked that they were also words: Rapt, meaning enthralled, riveted, captivated, and Rent, meaning torn asunder, violently wrenched. I thought it made for an interesting juxtaposition, open to all kinds of interpretations.

So let’s rock!
Today’s Daily Create was in honor of World Rock Day, which I hadn’t heard of previously. When I saw the prompt on Mastodon I thought of photographing a rock in my yard, but then I saw it was a different … Continue reading

11-7@7-11
The oddest thing I found in a 7-11 store was a job. I worked the 11-7 shift in the summer when I was in college. What was odd, to me, was the way I got the job. A friend came … Continue reading
brought to you by the Groom of the Stool
Today’s Daily Create asks us to make an antipodal tale – a story about side of the world. The opposite end of the planet from me is more or less Augusta, Western Australia. Its namesake is Prince Augustus Frederick, Duke … Continue reading
Not the bees!
The first thing I thought of when I saw today’s prompt was the Wicker Man, because it is meant to be burnt, with appropriate occupants. So then I had to think of buy and steal. I think if I was … Continue reading
“the PBS version of Nickelback”
For today’s Daily Create, we had to illustrate the story of a @MagicRealismBot tweet. I scrolled through the list and found this one: A cobra says to Gertrude Stein: "I love Milwaukee." — Magic Realism Bot (@MagicRealismBot) January 15, 2022 … Continue reading
Going off script
For today’s Daily Create, I pretty much immediately decided I wanted to make a word cloud of the Joy of Painting. So I went to a random episode and opened up the transcript on Youtube and copied it. The TDC … Continue reading
Waving the false flag
The Daily Create for today was to do a mashup of flags. There was a recommended app, but I went looking for other ones and found Fake Flag. This looked cool because you could take elements from multiple flags and … Continue reading
Well don’t you know about the bird?
Today’s Daily Create was a competition for the title of Best Bird. Since Big Bird was already in the prompt, I had to think of something else. I thought of Charlie Parker, but I’m not much of a bebop fan. … Continue reading
