About raptnrent: I got the name from my keys - R Apt and R Ent for the back door to my apartment and the back door to the house. I liked that they were also words: Rapt, meaning enthralled, riveted, captivated, and Rent, meaning torn asunder, violently wrenched. I thought it made for an interesting juxtaposition, open to all kinds of interpretations.

I don’t know how you can watch Brother Mouzone and not want to make a READ poster. I know I’m not the first one to do it. But since I’m all about the GIFs, I had to animate it. I … Continue reading

A shining example of parenting
Inspired by Groom’s animated magazine cover, I decided to try my own. I thought of those creepy Jack Nicholson GIFs from The Shining, and how they really belong on the cover of Parenting magazine. So I did a search for … Continue reading
Another 4 icons
Had to try another. This movie changed my life.
The one percent
Sorry to get all pessimistic and political, but I think it’s a problem with our society. Kind of a truth about the movie as well, sort of. The first challenge was getting rid of the real subheading. I used the … Continue reading
Name that tune
This is an old song all the people were singing in the seventies. Probably no one knows it, or the name of the band (no matter how many hints I drop). Can you guess? Two of the symbols came from … Continue reading
Where’d that guy come from?
One of my musical heroes is the Godfather of Soul himself, Mr. James Brown. Being a colorful character given to dramatic poses, I thought he’d be perfect for this assignment. So I found this picture, which includes his hairdresser as … Continue reading
Four icon concert
The Rolling Stones’ US tour of 1969 culminated in a free concert in the San Francisco area. Being free, the concert drew a larger crowd than anticipated. The Hell’s Angels were used as security. They beat up a number of … Continue reading
