“How can we recognize and resist these patterns of manipulation and control?”

So I had the unfortunate idea of having our Deep Dive podcast hosts take a look at Motörhead (Lemmy forgive me). My thought was that I might dissect their analyses and stitch them together with the songs and throw it all on ds106radio sometime. Here’s my first pass at one song:

The level changes are crude. Some of my faked looping is off beat, but not too distracting. I did it with Audacity. Mixxx would loop more smoothly, but I’ probably have to carefully plan out my timing in advance.

I had them go through six songs altogether. When I fed them the title along with the lyrics they recognize the songs as Motörhead, and when I didn’t, like here, they didn’t make the connection. I am rather amused by the literary seriousness that they bring to the lyrics. I guess Lemmy was doing timeless poetry about the human condition as well as rock and roll.
