Today’s Daily Create was a competition for the title of Best Bird. Since Big Bird was already in the prompt, I had to think of something else. I thought of Charlie Parker, but I’m not much of a bebop fan. I am however a fan of The Cramps so Surfin’ Bird was a natural choice. But I couldn’t just post a link to the song – I had to do something with it. Another favorite bird is the dodo bird vulture from Bugs Bunny. So I grabbed clips of each from Youtube and swapped the soundtracks with iMovie. The end result is pretty lame, but if I collected more Beaky Buzzard clips I might be able to edit them together in a way the makes sense with the song. Inasmuch as anything can.
About raptnrent: I got the name from my keys - R Apt and R Ent for the back door to my apartment and the back door to the house. I liked that they were also words: Rapt, meaning enthralled, riveted, captivated, and Rent, meaning torn asunder, violently wrenched. I thought it made for an interesting juxtaposition, open to all kinds of interpretations.
