For today’s Daily Create we had to make a sign for our ranch, as named by the Farm Name Generator. Mine came up with Roadrunner Vineyard, which was too easy to pass up. I went to the Noun Project to see what they had for vineyard, and picked grapes by John Melven. Then I looked for an iconic Roadrunner and mashed the two together. At first I had the Roadrunner in black silhouette, juxtaposed with the grapes, but that wasn’t working so I made it white with an outline and put it on top. I picked a stereotypical Western typeface for the words. It’s cheesy, but that’s what I was going for.
About raptnrent: I got the name from my keys - R Apt and R Ent for the back door to my apartment and the back door to the house. I liked that they were also words: Rapt, meaning enthralled, riveted, captivated, and Rent, meaning torn asunder, violently wrenched. I thought it made for an interesting juxtaposition, open to all kinds of interpretations.
