Cameron/Carey

Crime-Wave3

Through playing around in ds106, I met globe-hopping podcaster scottlo. I actually met him in person, along with a number of other ds106ers, at the Minding the Future event at UMW a couple weeks ago. Nosing through his site this afternoon, I found a link to The Timothy Carey Experience. I’m only vaguely familiar with Carey’s work, but it looks worth looking into further. I mainly know of him from his role in Crime Wave, an Andre de Toth noir that I had blogged about briefly before. And it turns out TCE used a few of my gifs! I’m glad someone found a use for them.

TCE led me to an episode of The Untouchables, “Ain’t We Got Fun“, which has Tim Carey in a brilliant but uncredited role. As a coincidence, we were talking about Eliot Ness of the Untouchables in the True Crime class this week.

An actor who is credited in that episode is Cameron Mitchell. Here he can be seen in Blood and Black Lace, a Mario Bava movie we covered as part of our Film Fest. And of course, the Bavafest was initiated by Groom, whom I met through ds106.

So that’s why they call it the Web: it’s all connected.
