For my six word story contribution, I chose to reinterpret the classic Looney Tune Long-Haired Hare as “Less opera, more banjo – or else.” Actually it just popped into my head out of nowhere, or out of a four decade diet of cartoons. I actually heard this cartoon on the radio once (WITR, you used to be so awesome). Radio is a truly bizarre way to experience animation.
While Bugs was street smart and occasionally had run-ins with Edward G. Robinson, I don’t think I’d call him hardboiled. A better example would be Fresh Airedale (in six words: Number One Dog has his day) for its sense of corruption, greed and injustice.
Of course, in the ideal world, crime does not pay.
